6:30 PM - 9:00 PM June 9, 2008
DLA Piper
2000 University Ave.
E. Palo Alto,, CA

Title: "Marketing to Web 2.0 Developers"

Speaker: Dave Nielsen - Principal Consultant - Platform D - www.platformdeveloper.com

Abstract: Wordpress, Facebook, OpenSocial,Youtube, Netvibes and iGoogle - all make it easy for anyone to create and share custom web pages. Large numbers of non-technical users, who never before thought possible, find themselves creating web content and even simple web pages. These non-technical developers represent a market of over 108 million users and influencers. Come learn about these new websites and the users who use them; and learn how to take advantage of this new channel through partnership, participation and guerrilla marketing techniques.

Speaker’s Bio: Dave was PayPal's first Technical Evangelist and went on to run the PayPal Developer Network of over 350,000 developers. With over 6 years experience building developer programs for companies like PayPal & StrikeIron, Dave now helps companies such as Nirvanix, Wetpaint, and BungeeLabs, create and run their developer programs. Dave is also the co-creator of the OpenFace Project, an open source project used to build Facebook and OpenSocial applications. Dave gained modest notoriety when he proposed to his wife in his book PayPal Hacks.
