Engineering Leadership SIG

Purpose: Retain and help members evolve beyond strictly technical leadership roles as they grow to be strategic engineering leaders and managers, especially 1st time engineering directors.

Target Audience: Directors and VPs of Engineering, and other engineering leaders, and those who aspire to be at those levels someday.

Mission: Create an active, thriving community of high quality engineering leaders/managers who come together to explore possibilities, learn, grow professionally and support each other. We are building a SIG community consisting of a robust foundation of frequent attendees, and a much larger extended community of occasional participants.  Our participants look forward to EL SIG events, enjoy sharing time with friends, and are only 1 degree of separation from their next jobs in the event of the inevitable job transitions.  These relationships last longer than some of the companies in this Valley!

Vision: We're a vibrant and valuable part of the careers and lives of Bay Area engineering leaders, improving the quality of their performance and enabling them to realize their full career potential. Our areas of focus are:  Leadership, Strategy, Tactical Nuts & Bolts and Career Management.

Description:  The Engineering Leadership SIG (EL SIG) enables engineering leaders to improve their effectiveness by providing a forum for sharing expertise, wisdom and experience in a collaborative and mutually beneficial context.  Our members and participants will achieve a deeper understanding of the product, process and people aspects of engineering leadership and management that are critical to delivering successful business results in our challenging global environment.

Commitment: Our attendees will overwhelmingly rate us 4.5 or higher(on a scale of 0 - 5) to the Ultimate Question "How likely are ou to recommend our EL SIG to friends or colleagues?"  Our "Net Promoter Score (NPS) [defined as % Promoters - % detractors} will be 80% or higher.
