Tom Cervantez – Business Counsel Law Group, LLP (www.bizlaw.com)
As a partner with Business Counsel Law Group in San Francisco, Tom Cervantez works with emerging companies, venture funds and computer software and hardware providers. He advises clients in matters involving securities, capital structure planning, private placements, mergers and acquisitions, venture financing and licensing transactions. He also advises domestic companies expanding into foreign markets, and international companies seeking investment or product distribution in the United States.

Provide consulting services for early and growth stage technology companies that are clients of Silicon Valley Bank. I specifically focus on the following sectors: SaaS, mobile, consumer internet, digital media. Geographic focus includes companies located in the Bay Area, Southern California, Seattle, Boulder/Denver, Boston, New York, and DC. I have helped numerous companies raise VC financing, including Bookrenter.com, RiseSmart, Uservoice, LendingClub, InfusionSoft, Veodia, Solexant, Fastscale (acquired), Gamestrata (acquired). Assist companies in raising initial and/or follow-on rounds of VC funding. Review and provide crucial feedback on marketing and investment materials such as executive summaries and presentations. Provide targeted introductions to venture capital firms/partners who are relevant based on sector, stage, geographic location.
Rohit Gupta is an associate with Opus Capital, where he sources and evaluates investment opportunities.
Rohit brings a technology and operational background to Opus. Prior to Opus, Rohit worked at Accenture, where he was a consultant focused on SOA, BPM, and SaaS technologies. While there, Rohit served in software architect and project manager roles for various medium-to-large companies in the telecommunications, energy and software sectors. Rohit has also worked extensively with clients to create technical assessments, feasibility reports and roadmaps, resulting in the appropriate use of funding and resource allocation. In addition, he previously worked at an embedded wireless mesh networking startup, as well as at a few political campaigns.
Rohit holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, with a minor in Political Science. Rohit served as the Class President at MIT, and continues to serve as the Alumni Class President.
