Speaker Bios:

Anup Jacob, Partner, Virgin Green Fund. Anup is a Partner of Virgin Green Fund and a Member of its Investment Committee. VGF invests growth capital in renewable energy and resource efficiency sectors. Prior to founding VGF with his 2 partners, Anup was a Partner in TPG’s Aqua Fund, where he served on a number of portfolio company boards. Anup currently serves on the board of Solyndra, a thin-film solar company and Wildcat Technologies, a material science company. Prior to TPG Anup started his career at DLJ in the Global Power and Merchant Banking groups. He is a graduate of the University of Chicago.

Bruce Keiser, Founder and President, Cohesive Ventures. Cohesive Ventures makes strategic and private equity investments in the smart grid, consumer media, mobile and charitable ventures worldwide. Our investments improve the way people live, learn, do business, and experience the world. A Silicon Valley native, Bruce is a serial entrepreneur with 25 years' experience starting, growing and managing successful businesses, including ImmunoCorp, American Digital Network, Namezero, Taseon, Aquacue and others. In addition to advising and collaborating with Cohesive's portfolio and related companies, Bruce manages the Silicon Valley portfolio of companies on behalf of New World TMT, Ltd., part of New World Development, one of the largest companies in Hong Kong. 

Bill Kocher, Director, City of Santa Cruz Water Department.
Bill has been the Director of the City of Santa Cruz Water Department for 25 years.  Prior to that, he was a Public Works executive in the Chicago suburbs.  His is a 30+ year member of AWWA and a long-time member of ACWA, CMUA, Water Education Foundation.  He has taught a class in Fresh Water Policy in the Environmental Studies section of the University of California Santa Cruz. He is pProud to have been a part of the last thirty years of water supply development, Bill agrees with ACWA that the extraction-based water systems we have built are not sustainable in the long term and we must balance demand-management strategies with diversified water portfolios for the future. As a 25-year veteran of California’s Central Coast no-growth politics, he also understands the sensitivity of water supply development and how it relates to growth.

Tamin Pechet, CEO, Banyan Water.
Tamin is CEO of Banyan Water (www.banyanwater.com), an integrator of smart water management companies.  He is also Chairman of Imagine H2O (www.imagineh2o.org), a global organization spurring entrepreneurship in the water industry through innovation prizes and a water business incubator.  Tamin also serves on the Board of Directors of Lux Research (www.luxresearchinc.com), a leading provider of research and analytics on water and other clean technology markets.  He is a frequent speaker on water business opportunities. Tamin holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and an AB with honors from Harvard University.

Mitch Zuklie, Partner, Orrick. Mitch is a corporate lawyer and the co-office leader for Orrick's Silicon Valley office. Mitch leads the firm's energy industry group.  Mr. Zuklie focuses on the formation, financing and general corporate counseling of technology businesses.  Mr. Zuklie has completed several hundred venture capital financings, and numerous public offerings, mergers, acquisitions and technology licensing transactions.
