This workshop is for serious startup entrepreneurs in the process of developing their business plan and/or wanting to grow their company so that they can maximize their chances of attracting an outside investor for the first time. Please come with your 60 second pitch and your chance to be one of three selected to pitch to the panel of VCs at the end of the day. The event will conclude with a wine reception.

Eric A. Deeds, Associate, DLA Piper. Eric is an associate in DLA Piper's Corporate and Securities group, based in San Francisco. Neal Hansch, Principal, Rustic Canyon Partners. Neal brings over a decade of experience in venture capital, technology operations and investment banking. Before joining Rustic Canyon, Neal worked in the Corporate Development group at Macromedia, where he was responsible for executing worldwide M&A transactions and strategic equity investments. Neal received his M.B.A. with distinction from the UCLA Anderson School of Management, where he was a Deutschman Venture Fellow. He also received bachelor degrees in Economics and Psychology from Duke University.
Lars Leckie, Principal, Hummer Winblad. Lars has played a key role in the firm’s investments in Aria Systems, vKernel) and an unannounced company in the storage virtualization market. He was a co-founder of AutoFarm (now Novariant). Lars has a Masters of Science (Engineering) from StanfordUniversity and an M.B.A. from the StanfordGraduateSchool of business. He also holds an Engineering Physics degree from Queen’s University (with Honors).
Susan Lucas-Conwell, CEO, SDForum. Susan is an accomplished CEO, Entrepreneur, Business Development and Marketing/Communications Executive with a unique experience in growing organizations and products to meet market needs, in developing relationships and liaising cross-culturally and internationally with a diverse audience of customers, partners, corporations, governmental and non-profit organizations. Susan assumed the role of CEO for the SDForum (sdforum.org) in 2006, Silicon Valley’s largest and oldest high-tech non-profit founded by technologists and entrepreneurs dedicated to education and creating relationships within the technology community.
Anthony Nassar, Founder and Principal, Venture Momentum. As a consulting CFO, Anthony helps startup entrepreneurs put together the pieces of their financial puzzle by providing a solid foundation from which to successfully raise capital, manage growth and achieve liquidity. Anthony brings to Venture Momentum's clients 20 years of financial management experience. He has assisted start-ups and small businesses on various matters including angel and venture financings, acquisitions, due diligence, accounting systems automation, financial reporting and internal controls. Throughout his assignments, he has advised companies on transactions valued at well over $100 million. Anurag (Anu) Nigam is the President & Board Director of Sand Hill Angels. He is an Electrical and Computer Engineering graduate from Carnegie Mellon University and has has been part of starting 6 different startups. He was part of the founding teams & lead ASIC efforts at Cerent Corp (bought by Cisco) and Siara Systems (bought by Redback Networks). Anu switched into the consumer Internet space and was an investor and founder of hi5.com, the 3rd largest social networking site. He is currently the founder and CEO of BuzzBox.com, a personalized news filtering engine for people who want to stay informed without being overwhelmed and never miss anything important.
Timothy K. Perotti, Partner, Frank, Rimerman + Co. LLP. Tim is an assurance and advisory partner at Frank, Rimerman + Co. LLP. His expertise includes revenue recognition, equity accounting and mergers and acquisition transactions. He has over 15 years of experience providing technical accounting, financial reporting, and advisory services to businesses in the professional service, manufacturing, distribution, software, and high-technology industries. He also has extensive experience working with privately-held, pre-IPO, venture backed companies, as well as companies with international operations and reporting requirements.
