Cloud Services SIG

Cloud Computing <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cloud_computing> made a big splash in 2009. Companies now offer hosting in their own clouds, solutions to build clouds, or services provided in the cloud. Our Cloud Services SIG meets monthly to discuss this disruptive model for providing application services via the Cloud.

Dave Nielsen - Developer Community Consultant, Platform D, http://www.platformd.com; And Co-founder, CloudCamp, http://www.cloudcamp.com

As a developer community consultant, Dave helps companies find ways to bring their product to the developer market. Dave is also the co-founder and "MC" of CloudCamp. As MC, Dave has created the CloudCamp unconference format which has spread around the world to over 20 cities and 3 continents in less than a year. 

Prior to Platform D and CloudCamp, Dave was Director of Partner Programs at StrikeIron. And before that, Dave was PayPal's first Technical Evangelist, and eventually Manager of the PayPal Developer Network, which he helped to grow to the largest community of ecommerce professionals on the Internet (over 325,000 ecommerce integrators and solution providers ).

Dave also serves as co-chair of the SDForum Cloud Computing SIG. Since founding the user group in 2001 (then Web Services SIG), he has arranged over 50 industry leaders to share insights about Web and Cloud Services. He is also the author of PayPal Hacks, published by O'Reilly Media.

Bernard Golden has over twenty years experience in the technology field, having worked in global consultancies, enterprise software companies, and large IT organizations. Today he is CEO of HyperStratus, a virtualization and cloud computing consulting firm.

Bernard is the author of Virtualization for Dummies, the most popular book on the subject ever published. He serves as the Virtualization and Cloud Computing Advisor for CIO Magazine. Bernard also speaks at many conferences on these topics as well as issues regarding technology adoption within IT organizations.
