Practical tips and techniques for anticipating, identifying, and satisfying customers needs for emerging technologies profitably.
"Because the purpose of business is to create a customer, the business enterprise has two--and only these two--basic functions: marketing and innovation. Marketing and innovation produce results; all the rest are costs. Marketing is the distinguishing, unique function of the business."
Peter Drucker in "Management: Task, Responsibilities, Practices"
Next Meeting: November 12th, 2007
Title:
Viral Marketing Unplugged: A fun, informative, example-filled look at one of marketing's most talked about disciplines.
Speaker:
Barak Kassar is President and Group Creative Director at Rassak Experience
Synopsis:
Viral Marketing Unplugged: You'll learn -- just what is viral marketing? (A clue: it comes in many forms). What's involved in creating a successful viral campaign? What pitfalls to watch out for? And where does viral marketing fit into the marketing mix?
Barak Kassar’s Bio:
Barak Kassar is President and Group Creative Director at Rassak Experience, the San Francisco-based strategic and creative marketing firm. Barak's top job is thinking (a lot) about how to make brands shine through high-density clutter. He has worked for 15+ years in very different areas of the media & marketing business. It's given him a multidisciplinary view. He helped launch Wink enhanced broadcasting on NBC and other nets. He founded INBOXTV, the pioneering email entertainment firm. He writes (Get Closer, MediaPost...) and speaks (NAB, Digital Hollywood, SDForum...). He is quoted (Variety, Wired, Wall St. Journal, New York Times, Scobleizer... ) Mostly he works... helping clients get closer to the people that matter most to their businesses. Rassak has helped clients ranging from Slide and StumbleUpon to Microsoft and Ricoh. Barak has a (sometimes useful) MBA from University of California at Davis and Erasmus University, the Netherlands.
